Aaaargh!
September 19th is “Talk like a Pirate” day. The holiday was created in 1995 by John Baur (“Ol’ Chumbucket”) and Mark Summers (“Cap’n Slappy”), but didn’t receive media attention until humor columnist Dave Berry shed light on it. Today it’s celebrated around the world.
There are even freebies at certain places if you talk or dress like a pirate. For example, Krispy Kreme will give you a free glazed donut if you talk like a pirate (and a whole dozen if you dress like a pirate with at least three pirate attires such as bandana or eye patch) and Long John Silvers is giving away fish.
I wonder if you could get something officially translated into pirate speak.
